The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the steering shaft may not have been properly installed at the base of the steering column assembly. As a result, the shaft could separate from the steering gear and cause a loss of steering. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the steering shaft and ensure that it is installed correctly. It will be repaired, if necessary.

Problème : Sur certains camions, l'arbre de direction pourrait ne pas avoir été adéquatement posé à la base de la colonne de direction. En conséquence, l'arbre pourrait se détacher du boîtier de direction et causer une perte de contrôle de la direction. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de contrôle de la direction pourrait causer un accident. Mesures correctives : Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion à un centre de service autorisé DTNA pour faire inspecter l'arbre de direction et s'assurer qu'il est bien posé. Les corrections nécessaires doivent être apportées au besoin.
