The issue
Issue: Certain motorhomes built on a Freightliner chassis could have a problem with the rear-mounted Power Distribution Module (PDM). This could cause the tail lights not to work properly. Note: This recall replaces FL-856 (Transport Canada recall 2020-421). Motorhomes that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: Brake lights or turn signals that do not work could cause a following driver not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking or intends to turn. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Tiffin will notify owners by mail and instruct you to contact a Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) authorized service facility to schedule a repair. The service facility will install a new wiring harness bypass.

Problème : Le module de distribution électrique (PDM) monté à l'arrière de certaines autocaravanes construites sur un châssis Freightliner XBS pourrait être défectueux. En effet, les feux arrière pourraient ne pas fonctionner correctement. Remarque : Le présent rappel remplace le rappel FL-856 (rappel 2020-421 de Transports Canada). Tous les véhicules réparés dans le cadre de ce rappel ont besoin d'une deuxième réparation. Risque pour la sécurité : Des feux de freinage ou des clignotants qui ne fonctionnent pas peuvent faire en sorte que le conducteur suivant ne se rende pas compte que le véhicule qui le précède freine ou a l'intention d'effectuer un virage. Cela pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Tiffin doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander de contacter une installation d'entretien autorisée par la compagnie Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) pour fixer un rendez-vous pour la réparation. L'établissement installera un nouveau faisceau de câblage de dérivation.
