The issue

Issue: On certain digger derricks and aerial devices, a weld in the boom structure could crack. If this happens, the boom could fail. Safety Risk: A boom that fails could create a risk of injury for the operator and people nearby. Corrective Actions: Terex will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for inspecting the boom structure. Terex advises you to perform a daily crack inspection of the boom structure welds, and not to use the digger derrick or aerial device if a weld is cracked. The company will repair or replace the boom, as necessary.

Problème : Sur certaines tarières et certains dispositifs aériens, une soudure de la structure de la flèche pourrait se fissurer. Si cela se produisait, la flèche pourrait tomber. Risques pour la sécurité : Une flèche qui tombe pourrait créer un risque de blessures à l'opérateur et aux gens qui se trouvent à proximité. Mesures correctives : Terex doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur fournir des instructions pour effectuer l'inspection de la structure de la flèche. Terex conseille d'effectuer une inspection quotidienne des soudures de la structure de la flèche pour détecter des fissures et de ne pas utiliser la tarière ou le dispositif aérien si une soudure est fissurée. L'entreprise doit réparer ou, au besoin, remplacer la flèche.
