The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the automatic headlamps may not turn on soon enough as it becomes dark outside. Canadian regulations require automatic headlamps to turn on when the ambient light level drops below a certain point (1000 lux). Safety Risk: Headlamps that don't turn on as it becomes dark outside could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the body control module (BCM) software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a GM dealership.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, les phares automatiques pourraient ne pas s'allumer assez rapidement lorsqu'il fait sombre à l'extérieur. La réglementation canadienne exige que les phares automatiques s'allument lorsque la luminosité ambiante est inférieure à un certain point (1000 lux). Risques pour la sécurité : Des phares qui ne s'allument pas lorsqu'il fait sombre pourraient réduire la visibilité et augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : General Motors doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et envoyer par transmission sans fil à chaque véhicule éligible la mise à jour logicielle du module confort-commodité (BCM). Les propriétaires peuvent également prendre un rendez-vous pour faire faire la mise à jour chez un concessionnaire General Motors.
