The issue

Issue: On certain motorcycles, the mounting point for the low beam reflector(s) inside the headlamp housing could become damaged and break. If this happens, the reflector(s) could fall out of position and cause the low beam not to be aimed properly. Safety Risk: A headlamp that is out of position cause reduced visibility and/or glare for oncoming drivers and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW Motorrad will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

Problème : Sur certaines motocyclettes, le point d'ancrage du ou des réflecteurs à l'intérieur du boîtier du feu de croisement pourrait se briser. Si cela se produisait, le ou les réflecteurs pourraient changer de position et entraîner une mauvaise orientation du feu de croisement. Risques pour la sécurité : Un feu de croisement mal orienté pourrait réduire la visibilité ou éblouir les conducteurs en sens inverse, ce qui pourrait accroître le risque d'accident. Mesures correctives : BMW Motorrad doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste. Les mesures correctives pour ce rappel sont en cours d'élaboration.
