The issue

Issue: On certain motorcycles, the reverser control unit may not have been sealed properly. As a result, water could enter the control unit and cause it to corrode. If this happens, the control unit could short circuit. Note: This problem could cause the reverse function not to work. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: BMW Motorrad will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the reverser control unit relay and related parts.

Problème: Sur certaines motocyclettes, l'unité de commande de marche arrière pourrait ne pas avoir été correctement scellée. Par conséquent, de l'eau pourrait pénétrer dans l'unité de commande et la corroder. Si cela se produisait, l'unité de commande pourrait subir un court-circuit. Remarque : Ce problème pourrait empêcher la fonction de marche arrière de fonctionner. Risques pour la sécurité: Un court-circuit peut créer un risque d'incendie. Mesures correctives: BMW Motorrad doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur motocyclette chez un concessionnaire pour faire remplacer le relai de l'unité de commande de marche arrière et les pièces connexes.
