The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the floor wiring harness may not have been secured properly and could become damaged. As a result, the airbags may not deploy in a crash and/or the airbags could deploy without a crash. Note: This problem would cause the airbag warning light to turn on. This recall affects both the Santa Fe and Santa Fe hybrid models. Safety Risk: An airbag that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Additionally, an airbag that deploys without a crash could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Hyundai will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, secure the floor wiring harness. If damage is found, the wiring harness will be replaced.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, le faisceau de câbles du plancher pourrait ne pas avoir été fixé correctement et pourrait être endommagé. Par conséquent, les coussins gonflables pourraient ne pas se déployer en cas d'accident et/ou les coussins gonflables pourraient se déployer sans qu'il y ait d'accident. Remarque : Ce problème entraînerait l'allumage du voyant d'avertissement des coussins gonflables. Ce rappel concerne à la fois les modèles Santa Fe et Santa Fe hybrides. Risques pour la sécurité : Un coussin gonflable qui ne fonctionne pas correctement pourrait augmenter le risque de blessure en cas d'accident. De plus, un coussin gonflable qui se déploie sans qu'il y ait de collision pourrait créer un risque de blessure. Mesures correctives : Hyundai doit aviser les propriétaires par écrit et leur demander d'emmener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire inspecter et, au besoin, faire fixer le faisceau de câbles du plancher. Si des dommages sont constatés, le faisceau de câbles sera remplacé.
