The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the nuts that secure the passenger-front airbag inflator may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the airbag may not inflate properly in a crash. Safety Risk: An airbag that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the passenger-front airbag.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, les écrous qui fixent le dispositif de gonflage du coussin gonflable du passager avant pourraient avoir été mal serrés. Par conséquent, le coussin gonflable pourrait ne pas se gonfler adéquatement lors d'un accident. Risque pour la sécurité : Un coussin gonflable qui ne fonctionne pas correctement pourrait augmenter les risques de blessures en cas d'accident. Mesures correctives : Volkswagen doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire inspecter et, au besoin, remplacer le coussin gonflable du passager avant.
