The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the stud on the frame that connects the battery and/or auxiliary power distribution to the starter may not have been installed properly. As a result, there could be a short circuit, and the wiring could overheat and melt. Safety Risk: A short circuit and/or wiring that overheats and melts can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and, if necessary, replace the cables and hardware.

Problème : Sur certains camions, le goujon sur le châssis qui relie la batterie et/ou le système de distribution de l'alimentation auxiliaire au démarreur pourrait ne pas avoir été installé correctement. Par conséquent, il pourrait y avoir un court-circuit et le câblage pourrait surchauffer et fondre. Risques pour la sécurité : Un court-circuit et/ou un câblage qui surchauffe et fond pourraient créer un risque d'incendie. Mesures correctives : Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion dans un centre de service autorisé DTNA pour faire inspecter et, au besoin, remplacer le câblage et la quincaillerie.
