The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the starter motor's terminal cover may not have been installed properly. As a result, the positive terminal could be exposed and contact nearby components in a crash. If this happens, there could be a short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit could create the risk of a fire and/or injury. Corrective Actions: Hyundai will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, reinstall the starter motor positive terminal cover.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, le cache-borne du démarreur pourrait ne pas avoir été installé correctement. Par conséquent, la borne positive pourrait être exposée et entrer en contact avec des composants à proximité lors d'un accident. Si cela se produisait, il pourrait y avoir un court-circuit. Risques pour la sécurité : Un court-circuit pourrait créer un risque d'incendie et de blessure. Mesures correctives : Hyundai doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire inspecter et, au besoin, réinstaller le cache-borne du démarreur.
