The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the power distribution center (PDC) box may be contaminated by oil and could fail. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. This problem could also cause the antilock brake system, exterior lighting, windshield wipers and/or defrost system not to work. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels and an antilock braking system that don't work could increase the risk of a crash. Exterior lights, windshield wipers and/or a defrost system that don't work could reduce visibility and also increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the PDC box.

Problème : Sur certains camions, le boîtier de distribution d'alimentation (PDC) pourrait être contaminé par de l'huile et faire défaut. Si cela se produisait, il pourrait y avoir une perte soudaine de puissance aux roues. Ce problème pourrait également empêcher le système de freinage antiblocage, les feux extérieurs, les essuie-glaces et/ou le système de dégivrage du pare-brise de fonctionner. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de puissance aux roues et un système de freinage antiblocage qui ne fonctionnent pas pourraient accroître le risque d'accident. Des feux extérieurs, des essuie-glaces et/ou un système de dégivrage du pare-brise qui ne fonctionnent pas pourraient réduire la visibilité et également accroître le risque d'accident. Mesures correctives : PACCAR doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire inspecter et, au besoin, remplacer le boîtier PDC.
