The risk
The product poses a risk of injuries because, due to the use of wrong material (swivel of the bearing pin), hair-line cracks in the weld seam of the bearing pin on the base-plate can occur in a number of the manual control devices. In the worst-case scenario, the bearing pin can come loose, leading to malfunction and even failure of the gas and brake actuation which could consequently lead to an accident.
Product: Manual control device with the designation "CLASSIC" for the subsequent equipment of vehicles for the disabled. The manual controls in question were delivered between May 2002 and November 2004 and replace the foot pedals for the brake and the accelerator.
