The risk
The product poses a risk of fire because the use of road salt can cause corrosion of the control module of the radiator fan on the concerned vehicles. The salt can penetrate the electronics and lead to overheating, which can cause the module and the surrounding cable and components to catch fire. 30 incidents reported.
Product: Vehicles built between 01.06.2006 and 25.01.2007 with type-approval numbers e13*2001/116*009, *144 and *157 are affected.
