Service bulletins
What Kenworth told its dealers about the 2025 Kenworth T380: known faults, fixes and updates.
| Bulletin | Summary |
|---|---|
| 11005552 | SAFETY RECALL Repair parts and procedures are now available. Certain Kenworth vehicles from model year 2025 may contain steering gear(s) with a sector shaft that may not meet hardness requirements for the gear teeth due to improper heat-treating during assembly. Sector shaft gear teeth with lower than required hardness may prematurely wear, crack, or fracture. A fractured gear tooth may interfere with the gear mechanism leading to binding which in turn may increase the likelihood of a crash. |
| 11000766 | New tools are required to support PACCAR TX-8 / ZF transmissions. Part numbers E0l-1012 (Adapter, Jack TX-8), E0l-1014 (Front Seal Installer), and E0l-1015 (Rear Seal Installer) are currently available to order |
| 10254157 | Certain Kenworth vehicles from model year 2025 may contain steering gear(s) with a sector shaft that may not meet hardness requirements for the gear teeth due to improper heat treating during assembly. Sector shaft gear teeth with lower than required hardness may prematurely wear, crack, or fracture. A fractured gear tooth may interfere with the gear mechanism leading to binding which in turn may increase the likelihood of a crash. This bulletin will be updated when repair parts and procedures are available. |
| 10252589 | Safety Recall INTERIM NOTIFICATION Parts are not currently available for this safety recall. This bulletin will be updated once repair parts are available. The right-hand shift stalk may have an improper wire harness terminal crimp within the wire harness connector. Loss of communication between the right-hand shift stalk and the transmission may result in the vehicle becoming disabled after it comes to a stop thereby increasing the risk of crash or injury. A transmission fault will appear on the dash display if communication is lost. |
| 10251170 | Safety Recall Inspection procedures are available. Steering gear serial numbers must be inspected to determine suspect gears. Certain steering gears may have been assembled incorrectly, causing the gear to fracture. This can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. |
