The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the ball stud on the drag link and/or tie rod may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the stud could fail and cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR advises not to drive the truck until the recall repairs are completed. PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a dealership to arrange for an inspection. The dealer will replace the drag link and/or tie rod, as necessary.

Problème : Sur certains camions, le pivot à rotule sur la barre de direction et/ou la biellette de direction pourrait ne pas avoir été fabriqué adéquatement. Par conséquent, le pivot pourrait faire défaut et causer une perte de contrôle de la direction. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de contrôle de la direction pourrait créer un risque d'accident. Mesures correctives : PACCAR recommande de ne pas conduire le camion jusqu'à ce que les réparations dans le cadre du présent rappel aient été effectuées. PACCAR doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander de contacter un concessionnaire pour faire effectuer une inspection. Le concessionnaire doit remplacer la barre de direction et/ou la biellette de direction, au besoin.
