The issue
On certain motorcycles, the expansion chamber (competition muffler) may break at the upper welded seam. This condition would cause a significant increase in exhaust noise levels. Should the operator continue to use the vehicle hot exhaust gases could damage the plastic fuel tank creating a potential fire hazard.

La chambre d'expansion (silencieux de compétition) peut s'ouvir au joint soudé supérieur. Cette situation entraîne un accroissement significatif du niveau sonore de l'échappement. En cas d'usage prolongé dans cet état, les gaz d'échappement chauds peuvent endommagér le réservoir à essence de matière plastique et constituer ainsi un risque d'incendie.
