The issue
VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE SAGINAW 710 POWER STEERING GEAR MAY DEVELOP CRACKS IN THE SPLINES OF THE PITMAN SHAFT IN APPLICATIONS WHERE A HIGH NUMBER OF TURNS ARE ENCOUNTERED AGAINST THE AXLE STOPS. THESE CRACKS COULD DEVELOP INTO A COMPLETE FRACTURE OF THE PITMAN SHAFT RESULTING IN A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. CORRECTION: PITMAN SHAFT WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW STRENGTHENED VERSION.

Des fissures peuvent se développer dans les cannelures de l'arbre de levier de direction des véhicules dotés du mécanisme de servodirection Saginaw 710 dans les situations où un grand nombre de virages jusqu'aux butées des essieux sont effectués. Ces fissures peuvent provoquer la rupture de l'arbre et causer une perte de la maîtrise de la direction.
