The issue

NOTE: VEHICLES LOCATED IN ONTARIO (2) AND B.C. (1) AND EQUIPPED WITH MECHANICAL PARKING BRAKE SYSTEMS (HYDRAULIC BRAKES). THE METAL SHEATHING OF PARKING BRAKE CABLES MANUFACTURED BY RICHLAND PRODUCTS CAN SEPARATE, ALLOWING THE INNER LOAD BEARING CABLE TO PULL THROUGH THE HOUSING, THUS RELAXING CABLE TENSION AND RELEASING THE PARKING BRAKE. THIS COULD RESULT IN VEHICLE ROLL-AWAY AND A POSSIBLE CRASH. CORRECTION: PARKING BRAKE CABLE WILL BE REPLACED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.

Le blindage métallique des câbles des freins de stationnement fabriqués par Richland Products peut se décoller, permettant au câble porteur interne de passer à travers le carter; dans cette éventualité, la tension sur le câble serait relâchée et le frein de stationnement ne serait plus appliqué. Il pourrait s'ensuivre qu'un véhicule stationné se mette à rouler et cause un accident.
