The issue
On certain vehicles, the fuel feed return line in the engine compartment could wear through as the result of repeated contact with the exhaust manifold as the vehicle is driven. If the pipe is worn through, fuel may escape from the pipe and possibly ignite if it contacts the exhaust system. Correction: Dealers will check the clearance between the fuel return pipe and the exhaust manifold and, if necessary, reposition the pipe. A worn pipe will be replaced with a new pipe which will be properly positioned.

Sur certains véhicules, une conduite de retour de carburant située dans le compartiment moteur peut s’user et percer suite à des contacts répétés avec le collecteur d’échappement quand le véhicule est en marche. Si la conduite s’use de part en part, du carburant peut s’en échapper et s’enflammer au contact du système d’échappement. Correction: Les concessionnaires devront vérifier l’écart entre la conduite de retour de carburant et le collecteur d’échappement et installer la conduite ailleurs s’il y a lieu. Les conduites usées devront être remplacées par une nouvelle canalisation installée au bon endroit.
