The issue
On certain vehicles equipped with the Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE) system, the left side engine idler pulley can fracture and ultimately fail. This would cause the pulley to throw off the serpentine belt, which can result in loss of auxiliary functions (power steering, water pump, alternator, air conditioning and ACE). Loss of steering assist would require increased steering effort and create the risk of a vehicle crash. Correction: Plastic idler pulley will be removed and replaced with a newly designed steel pulley.

Sur certains véhicules équipés du système ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement), la poulie-tendeur du côté droit du moteur peut se fracturer et éventuellement briser, ce qui ferait lâcher la courroie en serpentin et causer la perte des fonctions accessoires, comme la servodirection, la pompe à eau, l'alternateur, le climatiseur et l'ACE. Comme la perte de la servodirection obligera le conducteur à faire un effort supplémentaire pour maîtriser la direction, ce défaut représente un risque d'accident. Correction : La poulie-tendeur en plastique devra être remplacée par une poulie en acier de conception nouvelle.
