The issue
On certain sport utility vehicles the accelerator cable could have become kinked during vehicle assembly, resulting in chaffing of the cable. Continued chaffing can lead to breakage of the interior cable strands. Breakage of the cable strands can result in the throttle being stuck in the open position, increasing the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the damaged cables where necessary.

Sur certains véhicules utilitaires sport, il se peut que le câble d'accélérateur ait été coudé pendant le montage et s'use par frottement jusqu'à ce que les torons intérieurs du câble se brisent. Il se peut alors que le papillon des gaz reste coincé en position ouverte, ce qui augmente des risques d'accident. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter les câbles et remplacer ceux qui sont endommagés.
