Recall 2001029

The issue

Certain vehicles are equipped with Vanner 60 Series12/24 volt battery equalizers which may fail in the field without warning. The bus maybe parked with the engine turned off or while the vehicle is in motion when the failure occurs. This could result in the generation of black smoke and/or fire within the engine compartment. Correction: Vehicles will be inspected and equalizers replaced if necessary.

Certains véhicules sont équipés d'égaliseurs de batteries 12/24 volts Vanner série 60 qui peuvent faire défaut sans avertissement alors que le véhicule est en marche ou en stationnement, moteur coupé. Il pourrait alors y avoir dégagement de fumée noire ou incendie dans le compartiment moteur. Correction : Les véhicules devront être inspectés et les égaliseurs remplacés s'il y a lieu.
