The issue

On certain Yukon Denali and Yukon XL Denali vehicles, the positive battery cable assembly that could come in contact with the steering shaft universal joint. This could eventually cause a wear through of the cable assembly convoluted conduit and cable insulation and result in intermittent electrical shorting. This could result in overheating and igniting of the cable insulation and conduit and a possible underhood fire. Correction: Dealers will inspect the positive battery cable for proper routing and reroute if necessary. Cable will also be inspected for wear of the conduit and cable insulation, and replaced if necessary.

Sur certains Yukon Denali et Yukon XL Denali, il se peut que le câble de batterie positif entre en contact avec le joint universel de l'arbre de direction, que la gaine en spirale et l'isolation s'usent et que des courts-circuits intermittents s'ensuivent. Il se pourrait alors que l'isolation et la gaine surchauffent et prennent feu, provoquant un incendie dans le compartiment moteur. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter le câble positif de la batterie pour voir s'il est bien acheminé et le faire passer ailleurs au besoin. Ils devront inspecter le câble pour voir si la gaine et l'isolation ne sont usées et le remplacer s'il y a lieu.
