The issue

On certain trucks the positive battery cable routing past the ECM may allow the cable to chafe against the ECM mounting stud. Chafing may wear through the protective loom and battery cable insulation to allow contact between the cable and the stud. This contact would provide a short circuit which may cause a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace and/or reroute the cables.

Sur certains camions, le câble de batterie positif passe trop près du module de commande électronique (MCE) et risque de s'user par frottement sur le goujon de montage de ce dernier. Si la gaine de protection et l'isolation du câble s'usent et que l'âme du câble entre en contact avec le goujon, il se produira un court-circuit qui peut provoquer un incendie. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer ou réacheminer le câble en question.
