The issue

On certain vehicles, if the engine fails to start and the driver holds the key in the "Start" position for an extended period, high current flowing through the ignition switch may produces enough heat to melt internal switch parts. If the switch is damaged, a fire could occur in the steering column, even with the engine off and the key removed. Correction: Dealer will install a relay kit to prevent high current from flowing through the ignition switch.

Sur certains véhicules, si le moteur ne démarre pas et que le conducteur maintient la clé en position " Start " pendant un certain temps, du courant d'une grande intensité circulant dans le commutateur d'allumage pourrait produire assez de chaleur pour faire fondre des pièces internes du commutateur. Si le commutateur est endommagé, un incendie pourrait se produire dans la colonne de direction, même avec le moteur arrêté et la clé retirée. Correction : Le concessionnaire devra installer un ensemble-relais pour empêcher que du courant élevé passe dans le commutateur d'allumage.
