The issue
On certain travel trailers, excessive heat can be generated at the wire connections to the water heater while the heater is being operated on 110-volts. This has resulted in heat and smoke damage to the water heater insulation, plumbing, wiring and water heater compartment. Correction: Dealers will conduct a detailed inspection of the water heater wiring, remote relay and remove any excessive insulation at the connection between the supply line and the internal water heater wiring in the water junction box.

Sur certaines caravanes classiques, une chaleur excessive pourrait être générée au niveau des fils de raccordement du chauffe eau pendant que celui ci fonctionne (110 volts). La fumée et la chaleur pourraient endommager le filage, la plomberie, l'isolation du chauffe eau et le compartiment du chauffe eau. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront effectuer une inspection détaillée du relais à distance et du filage du chauffe eau; ils devront aussi enlever toute isolation excessive au niveau du raccordement entre la ligne d'alimentation et le filage se trouvant dans la boîte de jonction qui se trouve dans le chauffe eau.
