Recall 2004332

The issue

On certain vehicles, the U-joint fasteners at the output yoke of the transmission were not properly torqued during assembly. If the U-joints were to become loose, a portion of the driveline could become detached from the vehicle and fall out from under the vehicle, which could cause a crash. Correction: Dealers will verify the torque and/or retorque each of the U-joint fasteners.

Sur certains véhicules, les joints universels de la fourche de sortie de la boîte de vitesses n'ont pas été correctement serrés au cours du montage. Si les joints universels venaient qu'à prendre du jeu, une partie de l'arbre de transmission pourrait se détacher du véhicule et tomber au sol, ce qui pourrait provoquer un accident. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront vérifier et, le cas échéant, resserrer les joints universels.
