The issue
On certain vehicles, a tear in the fabric of the driver's front airbag occurred after apparent contact with the inside surface of the airbag cover during deployment. A torn airbag may not offer the same level of protection in the event of a crash thereby increasing the risk of injury to the driver. Correction: Dealers will install a protective fabric flap between the airbag module and the airbag cover.

Sur certains véhicules, le tissu du coussin gonflable avant du conducteur s'est déchiré après avoir probablement touché à la surface intérieure du couvercle du coussin gonflable au cours du déploiement du coussin. Un coussin gonflable déchiré pourrait ne pas offrir le même niveau de protection en cas d'accident, ce qui augmente les risques que le conducteur soit blessé. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser un dispositif de protection du tissu entre le module du coussin gonflable et le couvercle du coussin gonflable.
