The issue

On certain vehicles, a spacer plate located on the trailer hitch may not fit flush with the rear extension of the hitch. The improper fit of the spacer plate causes the fasteners to be corner loaded when tightened. Under certain conditions, this could cause the hitch to fail during usage, possibly allowing the towed unit to separate from the towing vehicle. Correction: Dealers will replace the spacer plate.

Sur certains véhicules, une plaque d'espacement située sur l'attelage pourrait ne pas arriver tout à fait au même niveau que l'extension arrière de l'attelage, ce qui fait en sorte que les dispositifs d'attache sont soumis à une contrainte dans les virages. Sous certaines conditions, cela pourrait faire en sorte que l'attelage fasse défaut pendant son utilisation, ce qui permettrait possiblement à l'unité remorquée de se détacher du véhicule tracteur. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer la plaque d'espacement.
