The issue
On certain motorcycles, the bolt that attaches the steering damper body to the frame bracket may not have been tightened sufficiently during vehicle assembly. If the bolt loosens and backs out completely, the steering damper could inhibit free movement of the steering assembly leading to a loss of steering control which could cause a crash with injuries or death. Correction: Dealers will tighten the steering damper mounting bolt to specs.

Sur certaines motocyclettes, le boulon qui fixe l'amortisseur de direction au support du châssis pourrait ne pas avoir été serré suffisamment pendant le montage du véhicule. Si le boulon se desserrait et sortait complètement, l'amortisseur de direction pourrait empêcher la direction de bouger librement, ce qui causerait une perte de contrôle de la direction et pourrait causer un accident avec blessés ou décès. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront serrer le boulon de montage de l'amortisseur de direction au couple prescrit.
