Recall 2008038

The issue

On certain vehicles, a wiring harness that is not compatible with the vehicle circuit polarity may have been inadvertently installed during servicing for recall 2005028 or 2007258. As a result, the fuse is located in the output circuit rather than in the input power feed circuit, and will not offer the intended protection in the event of an electrical short to ground. This could result in a vehicle fire, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install an updated wiring harness.

Sur certains véhicules, un faisceau de câbles qui est incompatible avec la polarité du circuit du véhicule pourrait avoir été posé par erreur pendant l'entretien pour le rappel 2005028 ou le rappel 2007258. En conséquence, le fusible est situé dans le circuit de sortie plutôt que dans le circuit d'alimentation d'entrée; de plus, il n'offrira pas la protection voulue en cas de court circuit à la masse. Cela pourrait causer un incendie dans le véhicule, endommageant des biens matériels ou blessant quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser un faisceau de câbles à jour.
