Recall 2008047

The issue

On certain vehicles, the door latch may have been manufactured incorrectly. If the latch rotor cracks, the latch would not have primary or secondary closing security. Attempting to drive a vehicle with a door in the unlatched position can result in increased risk of injury to an unbelted front seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the latch assemblies.

Sur certains véhicules, le loquet de portière pourrait avoir été mal fabriqué. Si le rotor du loquet se fissurait, le loquet n'assurerait pas la sécurité de verrouillage primaire ou secondaire. Le fait d'essayer de conduire un véhicule avec une portière déverrouillée pourrait augmenter les risques de blessure encourus par un occupant de siège avant ne portant pas sa ceinture de sécurité. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, le cas échéant, remplacer les loquets.
