The issue

On certain vehicles, the slack adjuster may develop a fatigue crack and fail. This would render the slack adjuster inoperative, and reduce braking effectiveness. Extended stopping distances may result in a vehicle crash, causing property damage, and/or personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, where necessary, replace the slack adjusters.

Sur certains véhicules, le rattrapeur d'usure pourrait développer une fissure par fatigue et faire défaut. Cela rendrait le rattrapeur d'usure inopérant et réduirait l'efficacité des freins. Une augmentation des distances de freinage pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels, blesser quelqu'un ou entraîner des pertes de vie. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, le cas échéant, remplacer les rattrapeurs d'usure.
