The issue
On certain vehicles, the routing of the alternator cable may cause the cable to rub against engine components. If not detected during regular maintenance inspections the insulation can rub to a point of exposing the electrified cable which could create an arc that could result in a fire. Correction: A notice will sent to the affected customers to inspect for proper routing, correct the proper routing and replace any components showing signs of wear.

Sur certains véhicules, l'acheminement du câble d'alternateur pourrait faire en sorte que le câble frotte contre des pièces du moteur. Si le problème n'était pas détecté lors d'inspections de maintenance régulière, l'isolation pourrait s'user jusqu'à exposer le câble électrifié, ce qui pourrait produire un arc électrique qui pourrait provoquer un incendie. Correction : Un avis sera envoyé aux clients visés afin qu'ils s'assurent que l'acheminement est adéquat, qu'ils le corrigent au besoin et qu'ils remplacent toute pièce montrant des signes d'usure.
