The issue
On certain motorcycles, if the hand protector is twisted out of position relative to the handlebar lever, to the extent that lever and protector come into contact, there is a possibility that the handlebar lever remain continuously in the partly operated position. This is turn can cause problems with the brake function and could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Owners will receive a loose-leaf insert as an addendum to the Rider's Manual and two stickers complete with the installation instructions, or owners may have their authorised BMW motorcycle dealers do the installations for them.

Sur certaines motocyclettes, si la position du protecteur pour la main était modifiée par rapport au levier du guidon au point que le levier et le protecteur se touchent, il se pourrait que le levier du guidon demeure partiellement enfoncé, ce qui pourrait causer des problèmes de frein et augmenter les risques d'accident. Correction : Les propriétaires recevront un encart pour le guide du propriétaire, ainsi que deux autocollants avec les instructions de pose; les propriétaires pourraient demander à leur concessionnaire moto BMW autorisé de poser les autocollants.
