The issue

On certain vehicles, the bolt that connects the engine lubrication oil pipe to the vacuum pump may not have been tightened properly during vehicle assembly. If not adequately tightened the bolt may loosen after prolonged vehicle operation, which can result in oil seepage or leakage from the packing seals. Normally, as oil is lost, the oil warning lamp will illuminate and there may be abnormal engine noise. However, if the problem is not addressed, the loss of oil can cause engine seizure. If the engine seizes while the vehicle is being driven, the vehicle may experience sudden deceleration, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the packing seals and tighten the bolt to specified torque.

Sur certains véhicules, le boulon qui fixe le tuyau d'huile de lubrification du moteur à la pompe à vide pourrait ne pas avoir été serré adéquatement pendant le montage du véhicule. Un boulon non adéquatement serré pourrait se desserrer après une utilisation prolongée du véhicule, ce qui pourrait entraîner une fuite ou un suintement d'huile au niveau des garnitures d'étanchéité. Habituellement, en cas de perte d'huile, le voyant d'avertissement pour l'huile s'allumera, et il pourrait y avoir des bruits de moteur anormaux. Cependant, si le problème n'était pas corrigé, la perte d'huile pourrait provoquer le grippage du moteur. Si le moteur se grippait pendant que le véhicule roule, le véhicule pourrait ralentir soudainement, ce qui pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer les garnitures d'étanchéité et serrer le boulon au couple de serrage spécifié.
