The issue

On certain trucks, the propeller shaft may not have received adequate heat treatment during the manufacturing process. As a result, the shaft may break and fall off while the vehicle is being driven. Separation of the driveshaft would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. In addition, once separated from the vehicle the driveshaft could cause vehicle damage or damage to other vehicles and property, and could potentially result in personal injury or death to bystanders. Correction: Dealers will replace the propeller shaft.

Sur certains camions, l'arbre de transmission pourrait ne pas avoir reçu un traitement thermique adéquat lors de sa fabrication. En conséquence, l'arbre pourrait se briser et tomber au sol pendant que le véhicule roule. Un détachement de l'arbre de transmission entraînerait une perte de propulsion, ce qui, conjointement à l'état de la route, à la densité de la circulation et aux réactions du conducteur, pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. De plus, une fois détaché du véhicule, l'arbre de transmission pourrait endommager le véhicule ou d'autres véhicules et biens matériels; aussi, il pourrait blesser ou tuer des personnes se trouvant à proximité. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer l'arbre de transmission.
