The issue

On certain motorcycles, the combined brake system’s secondary master cylinder may cause the rear brakes to drag. Unexpected braking may adversely affect vehicle stability, which could result in a crash. As well, continued riding with the rear brake engaged/dragging may generate enough heat to cause the rear brake to catch fire. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the secondary master cylinder with an updated version.

Sur certaines motocyclettes, le maître-cylindre secondaire du circuit de freinage combiné pourrait augmenter la résistance des freins arrière. Un freinage inattendu pourrait avoir une incidence négative sur la stabilité du véhicule, ce qui pourrait causer un accident. De plus, le fait de continuer à circuler avec des freins arrière qui frottent pourrait produire suffisamment de chaleur pour enflammer le frein arrière. Ces problèmes pourraient endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, si nécessaire, remplacer le maître-cylindre secondaire par une pièce d'une version à jour.
