Recall 2012002

The issue

On certain trucks, the fastener which secures the steering drag link arm to the knuckle may not have received adequate tightening torque during vehicle assembly. This could allow the drag link arm to disconnect, which could result in a loss of steering capability. A loss of steering control could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will tighten the drag link arm fastener to specifications.

Sur certains camions, le dispositif qui fixe la barre d'accouplement au joint d'articulation pourrait ne pas avoir été adéquatement serré lors du montage du véhicule, ce qui pourrait causer le détachement de la barre d'accouplement, puis une perte de capacité à diriger le véhicule. Une perte de contrôle de la direction pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront serrer le dispositif de fixation de la barre d'accouplement conformément aux spécifications.
