The issue
Issue: This recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by Vitro Automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: This is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Safety Risk: Glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: The company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “DOT 287” along with the lettering “VMR” (Replacement Market) and a date code that is before July 2019. This information is printed on the bottom corner of the glass. Consumers should contact Vitro's customer service at 1-412-995-6457 or argbacklites@vitro.com to arrange for replacement of the glass.

Problème Le présent rappel vise le verre de lunettes arrière de rechange issues du marché secondaire et produites par Vitro Automotriz. Dans certains cas, le verre n’aurait pas été adéquatement trempé et pourrait se séparer en gros morceaux plutôt qu’en très petits si la lunette cassait. Remarque : le présent rappel est volontaire et ne découle pas des exigences de la Loi sur la sécurité automobile. Risque en matière de sécurité La séparation du verre en gros morceaux pourrait poser un risque de blessure. Mesures correctives L’entreprise informera les consommateurs concernés du problème par courrier et leur demandera de vérifier le code d’identification marqué sur le verre. Les produits visés par le présent rappel comportent l’identifiant « DOT 287 » avec l'inscription VMR (marché de remplacement) et un code de date antérieur à juillet 2019. Cette information est imprimée dans le coin inférieur du verre. Les consommateurs concernés devraient communiquer avec le service à la clientèle de Vitro, au 1-412-995-6457 ou au argbacklites@vitro.com , afin d’organiser le remplacement du verre.
