The issue

Certain motorhomes equipped with a Spartan chassis may experience unintended increase in vehicle speed after the cruise control is set. Then, if the brake is applied and released, cruise control function may resume and the vehicle speed may continue to increase. An unexpected moderate increase in vehicle speed may go unnoticed by the driver and, depending on traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Since Fleetwood Enterprises Inc (the manufacturer of these vehicles) is no longer in business, Spartan Motor Chassis, Inc. is supplying vehicle owners with this courtesy notice. Owners are advised to contact Spartan at 800-393-8861, to locate an authorized repair facility. The remedy consists of replacing the cruise control switch and reprogramming the control module.

Certaines autocaravanes à châssis Spartan pourraient accélérer subitement après le réglage du régulateur de vitesse. Alors, si le conducteur appliquait les freins et les relâchait, le régulateur pourrait se remettre en marche et la vitesse du véhicule pourrait continuer à augmenter. Une augmentation modérée inattendue de la vitesse du véhicule pourrait ne pas être remarquée par le conducteur et, en fonction de la densité de la circulation, de l'état de la route et des réactions du conducteur, pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Comme Fleetwood Enterprises Inc (le fabricant de ces véhicules) n'est plus en affaires, Spartan Motor Chassis, Inc. fournit aux propriétaires des véhicules le présent avis de courtoisie. On avise les propriétaires de contacter Spartan au 1-800-393-8861 pour localiser un réparateur autorisé. La solution consiste à remplacer l'interrupteur du régulateur de vitesse et à reprogrammer le module de commande.
