The issue

On certain trucks, the fastener that attaches the pitman arm to the right side steering gear may have been tightened beyond its specified torque. An over torque condition may result in bolt fatigue and/or fracture of the fastener and allow the pitman arm to separate from the steering gear resulting in a loss of steering control. A loss of steering control could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the pitman arm fastener.

Sur certains camions, le dispositif de fixation qui relie la bielle pendante et le boîtier de direction du côté droit pourrait avoir été serré au-delà de son couple spécifié. S'il était trop serré, il pourrait se briser ou le boulon pourrait se fatiguer, et ce trop grand serrage pourrait permettre à la bielle pendante de se détacher du boîtier de direction, ce qui entraînerait une perte de contrôle de la direction. Une telle perte pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer le dispositif de fixation de la bielle pendante.
