The issue

On certain vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions, a defect in the PARK function could allow the vehicle to roll away while in PARK, or to immobilize the vehicle so that is cannot be moved or driven. Should the vehicle roll away, it could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the transmission.

Sur certains véhicules munis d'une boîte de vitesses automatique, un défaut au point d'arrêt PARK pourrait faire bouger le véhicule pendant qu'il est à cette position PARK, ou immobiliser le véhicule de façon à ce qu'il ne puisse pas être déplacé ni conduit. Si le véhicule se mettait en mouvement, il pourrait percuter un autre véhicule, un objet stationnaire ou une personne se trouvant à proximité, ce qui endommagerait des biens matériels ou blesserait quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer la boîte de vitesses.
