The issue

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The software within the control module of the halogen headlights can allow the low beam headlights to turn off when the high beam headlights are activated, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. Reduced lighting at the front of the vehicle can affect the driver's vision, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the software of the control module.

Certains véhicules pourraient ne pas satisfaire aux exigences de la NSVAC 108 – Système d'éclairage et dispositifs rétroréfléchissants. Le logiciel du module de commande des phares à halogène pourrait permettre aux feux de croisement de s'éteindre lorsque les feux de route sont allumés, ce qui va à l'encontre des exigences de cette norme. Un éclairage réduit à l'avant du véhicule pourrait nuire à la vision du conducteur, ce qui pourrait augmenter les risques de collision pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Correction : Les concessionnaires devront mettre à jour le logiciel du module de commande.
