The issue

On certain vehicles, the driver's (frontal) airbag inflator has a potential for intrusion of moisture over time due to insufficient air sealing. This could result in the inflator rupturing during a deployment, and/or an abnormal deployment of the driver's (frontal) airbag during a crash (where deployment is warranted), which could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver's (frontal) air bag inflator with an updated part.

Dans certains véhicules, une mauvaise étanchéité à l'air pourrait faire en sorte que de l'humidité pénètre au fil du temps dans le générateur de gaz du coussin gonflable du conducteur (avant), ce qui pourrait entraîner une rupture du générateur en cours de gonflage et/ou un gonflage anormal lors d'une collision (c'est-à-dire lorsque le coussin doit se gonfler) et ainsi accroître les risques que le conducteur soit blessé. Correction : Les détaillants doivent remplacer le générateur de gaz par une pièce mise à niveau.
