Recall 2015535

The issue

On certain vehicles, insufficient adhesive may have been applied to the steering gear pinion plug at time of assembly. This could allow the plug to loosen and potentially separate from the steering gear assembly, causing a loss of steering which could result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a new pinion plug with properly applied adhesive. Note: This recall is superseded by recall 2017514. Please see recall 2017514 for more information. Sur certains véhicules, une quantité insuffisante d'adhésif pourrait avoir été appliquée sur le bouchon de pignon du mécanisme de direction lors de l'assemblage. Cela pourrait permettre au bouchon de se desserrer et de se détacher du mécanisme de direction, ce qui causerait une perte de contrôle de la direction. Cela pourrait causer un accident pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Correction : Les concessionnaires devront installer un nouveau bouchon de pignon avec un adhésif bien appliqué. Remarque : Ce rappel est remplacé par le rappel 2017514.
