The issue

On certain vehicles, the pawl spring tab in the side door latch could break. This condition typically will prevent the door from latching. In certain situations where the door is able to be closed, the door may be partially latched and could unlatch while driving. This could increase the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant seated next to the door, or result in damage to property. Correction: If a door will not latch, dealers will replace all four door latches with a more robust part. Note: A door that is partially latched can cause the courtesy light to remain on, set a door ajar message in the instrument cluster and sound a door ajar chime to alert the driver that there is a door latch problem.

Dans certains véhicules, la plaquette de ressort de cliquet dans le verrou de portière latérale pourrait se briser. Ce problème empêchera habituellement le verrouillage de la portière. Dans certaines situations où la portière peut être fermée, celle-ci peut se verrouiller partiellement et se déverrouiller pendant que le véhicule est en mouvement, ce qui pourrait augmenter les risques de blessures pour un occupant du véhicule assis près de cette portière, ou entraîner des dommages matériels. Mesure corrective : Si une portière ne s'enclenche pas correctement, les concessionnaires devront remplacer le verrou des quatre portières par une pièce plus robuste. Remarque : Une portière partiellement verrouillée peut faire en sorte que le dispositif d'éclairage d'accueil demeure allumé, qu'un message de portière ouverte soit affiché dans le groupe d'instruments et qu'un avertissement sonore de portière ouverte soit émis afin d'avertir le conducteur qu'une portière est mal verrouillée.
