The issue

On certain motorhomes where a residential refrigerator was installed in place of the standard refrigerator, the positive and negative leads from the battery which hook to the standard refrigerator were left with exposed wire ends. This could result in the energized wire and the negative wire to possibly make contact with each other, which could lead to melting of the wires' insulation, and increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will disconnect the energized and negative wires at the house battery.

Dans certaines autocaravanes dans lesquelles un réfrigérateur résidentiel a été installé au lieu d'un réfrigérateur standard, les fils positif et négatif de la batterie qui se branchent au réfrigérateur standard présentent des extrémités exposées. Par conséquent, le fil sous tension et le fil négatif pourraient entrer en contact l'un avec l'autre, ce qui pourrait faire fondre leur gaine et augmenterait les risques de déclenchement d'un feu pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Mesure corrective : Les concessionnaires devront débrancher le fil sous tension et le fil négatif de la batterie interne.
