The issue

On certain vehicles, a brake booster shield may have been incorrectly installed as part of recall P14/2014-112. An incorrectly installed shield could be less effective in diverting water away from the brake booster, creating the possibility of corrosion allowing water to get inside. In a cold climate, water inside the brake booster could freeze limiting the braking ability of the vehicle, resulting in longer braking distances, increasing the risk of crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the installation of the brake booster shield and perform repairs as necessary.

Sur certains véhicules, le bouclier de servofrein peut avoir été mal posé dans le cadre du rappel P14/2014-112. Un bouclier mal posé pourrait laisser de l'eau s'écouler sur le servofrein, qui pourrait provoquer de la corrosion et permettre que l'eau s'infiltre dans le servofrein. Dans les régions froides, l'eau à l'intérieur du servofrein pourrait geler et réduire la capacité de freinage du véhicule en augmentant les distances de freinage et ainsi augmenter les risques d'accident pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Mesure corrective : Les concessionnaires devront vérifier l'installation du bouclier de servofrein et effectuer les réparations nécessaires.
