The issue

On certain cars, the airbag system may not turn off the airbag when an infant or child is seated in the front passenger seat. In the event of a crash with an airbag deployment, this could create a risk of injury to the infant or child. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the Occupant Classification System. Note: Infants and children should not be transported in the front passenger seat until the recall is completed.

Dans certaines automobiles, le système de coussin gonflable pourrait ne pas se désactiver lorsqu’un enfant se trouve à l’avant, sur le siège du passager, ce qui pourrait poser un risque de blessures pour l’enfant lors d’un accident entraînant le déploiement du coussin. Mesure corrective : les détaillants doivent reprogrammer le système de classification des occupants. Remarque : aucun enfant ne devrait se trouver à l’avant, sur le siège du passager, avant la mise en œuvre du rappel.
